About Us
The Graduate Institute of Taiwan
Literature and Transnational Cultural Studies at National Chung-hsing
University was established in August, 2004. It offers an unrivaled
graduate program of solid training in the study of Taiwan Literature
from interdisciplinary and comparative perspectives. The interests and
expertise of the teaching staff of the institute are wide and varied,
but all members of staff conduct their research and teaching in the
context of transnational studies. Working closely with other departments
and institutes at Chung-hsing University-- such as the Department of
Foreign Languages and Literature, Department of Chinese Literature,
Department of History, and the Graduate Institute of Library and
Information Science, ¡¨ the institute offers a wide range of courses of
intellectual depth and breath. It also benefits from close working
relations with experts in related fields from other countries and
provides a platform for students to engage in scholarly dialogue with
international academic communities.
The institute will set up a doctoral degree program in the near future.
