Welcome To Extension Division for Inservice and Continuing Education  



Taichung Evening School was established and started to recruit students in August, 1968. In March 1996, The Ministry of Education suggested that the evening schools in public universities should transform into extension education, so that university resources could be fully used and university fund could be increased.

Taichung Evening School was renamed Taichung Continuing Education School in August 1997. In August 1998, Extension Education Center was established to provide administrative support for the extension educational classes. In February 2000, College of Law and Business of National Chung-Hsing University's at Taipei Campus became an independent University, named National Taipei University. Naturally Taichung Continuing Education School was renamed NCHU's Continuing Education School.

In order to provide better service and efficiency , in August 2002, Taichung Continuing Education School and Extension Education Center merged and operated with a new name, Extnsion Division for In-service and Continuing Education, an administrative department rather than an academic.

There are four departments in Taichung Evening School since August 1969. They are Chinese Literature, Foreign Languages and Literatures, Accounting and Statistics, Business Administration. In 1970, a new department of History established, and the department of Accounting and Statistics changed its name into Accounting. In 1984, the department of Chinese Literature and Foreign Languages and Literatures doubled their recruitment to two classes. Again a new department Agriculture Administration established in 1991, started to recruit students in 1993, and changed its name to Bio-Industry Extension and Management in 2006. All elective courses are based on skill-learning, and the teaching materials were designated by the teachers. This section is responsible for students recruitment、transferring、suspension and drop-out. In 2006, department of Agriculture Administration is changes the name for the Department of Bio-Industry Extension and Management.

This division belongs to Extension Division For Inservice And Continuing Education. It is mainly responsible for those undergraduate and extension education students, including all the service applications provided, such as tuition deduction, student loan, military service, in-campus part time ob, insurance, club activity and vehicle pass.

This section, established in August 2001, provides service to all extension education classes including class opening administration, recruitment promotion, student information and grade management, and certificate print-out.

This section was first established in August 1968, and reorganized as a sub-department of general affair in 1996. Section for General Affair is responsible for procurement, asset management, water and electricity maintenance. In 1996, General Services became General Management. In 2001, General Management again became General Affair up to now.
