Equipment and Facilities The department has its own library, with a collection of more than 29,000 volumes of books and 400 periodicals. A multimedia studio is reserved for courses such as “Music Appreciation” and “Classical Painting and Calligraphy.” Machines available in this studio include projectors, HiFi VCRs, TVs, stereo systems, CD players, amplifiers, etc. In the computer room, there are seven computers with internet accessibility, one color printer, one laser printer, and one scanner. The department also owns a vast array of software and hardware, including one Kangxi 480DPI Chinese Layout System, fax machines, Chinese-English typewriters, Microfilm readers, projectors, camcorders, cameras, language drill machines, tapes of classical poetry readings, and Dunhuang microfilms. “The Lab for Classical Drama and Fiction,” composed of two rooms, is specifically designed for the collection of classical drama videotapes, instruments, costumes, and miscellaneous performance accoutrements. |
