演講摘要(Abstract)

This talk will concentrate on discussing two sites of theoretical/creative tactics which introduce newly emergent deviant subjects and situate their unruly potential with nuance and dynamics. The first one is penumbrae queer politics developed within this decade by Taiwan academics, such as Ding Naifei, Jen-peng Liu , and Amie Parry. This reading strategy makes manifest how reticent discourse works as centralized dominant ideology within and without inter-Asia locations; it also articulates carefully non-conformist power and tension generated from marginal cultural activism and raw force born to dissident subject formations, such as intricate interrelationships between post-human, cybernetic-organic living condition and transgender identification, bad or outdated bodily stigma and its possibility to subvert a homo-normative and progressive universe, and clashing encounters among differently shaped sub-cultural lives and texts. The second part of our session endeavours to analyze para-literary writings, such as gender-queer science fiction narratives with its uncanny, idiosyncratic, and ironically stylist affront. As a researcher, a writer, and a trans-queer identified individual, I argue for these performatives of trans-cultural, trans-national, gender-ambiguous narrations and positionalities. By interchanging metaphors and icons created by theorists like Judith Butler, Walter Benjamin, George Bataille, Julia  Kristeva and novelists such as Kathy Acker, Samuel J. Delany, Joanna Russ, we will explore how non-realism, fantastic paraliterature, by teasing and playing with canonical works, could tremendously affect, pollute, and mutilate a single-minded cultural pluralism supported by pseudo-liberalism and under-dog political correctness.
