超分子化學在催化上的應用是最近相當熱門的研究領域。本實驗室的研究興趣是利用非共價鍵的策略建立具有催化活性的分子,因為催化中心的疏水作用,在常見的化學反應中以水替代有機溶劑是我們研究的方向。更重要的是利用非共價鍵的方式,可以方便的引進手性中心而形成不對稱的奈米級反應器,這將應用在不對稱催化反應。另外,開發新的配體並探討其結構對於有機金屬催化反應的影響;以及新型態的分子開關在有機材料上的應用也是我們很感興趣的課題。

Supramolecular catalysis is a very hot topic in recent years.  Our research is focused on constructing a reactive center for catalysis through non-covalent approaches.  The hydrophobic character of such reactive centers should make it possible to perform common chemical reactions using water as a solvent. More importantly, the non-covalent approach makes it very convenient to introduce a chiral environment to such 'nano-reactors'. It would ultimately be interesting to utilize these 'nano-reactors' in the area of asymmetric catalysis on water.  In combination with the development of new ligands for catalysis and the design of molecular switches, these projects make up the core of our research interests.
